 Spring Fun 2001 Winner

Dragon & Star
  Dragon & Star

Comments from Dragon's owner:

Dragon came to us late November 2000...just a few weeks away from his 4th birthday. A friend in Canada was going through a separation. Times were difficult for her, and she found that having Dragon during that time in her life wasn't fair to him. It was very unexpected for us, but we decided to welcome Dragon into our home and hearts. It was difficult for him to adjust at first, but it wasn't long before Dragon felt very much "at home" with us and our dog family. (He is proof that you don't have to start out with a puppy, and adult dogs can make wonderful pets too!)

Dragon was a "show dog" up in Canada and finished his Canadian Championship as a puppy. My husband and I show Rottweilers and Border Collies, so we were looking forward to also showing Dragon here. He certainly has not disappointed us in the show ring...on the way to his AKC Championship he has defeated well over a hundred Rottweilers, including those that are already AKC Champions! Dragon not only has captured our hearts, but also the Judges eyes. We are now looking forward to his future showing adventures in the obedience ring.

Dragon has become a very special part of our family, and is a wonderful ambassador for the Rottweiler breed. Our Border Collie "Star" is pictured with "Dragon" in the winning RottenRotty photo. Star is Dragon's favorite new "sister". They had just finished playing a game of fetch with me and were relaxing in the shade when that photo was taken. It was not a planned pose Dragon and Star are true buddies and enjoy each other's close company!

Renegade as a pumpkin
Renegade

Comments from Renegade's owner:

These are the things I love about Renegade the Rottweiler:

The way he hides things. Plush toys, kongs, you name it, he tucks things away all over the house and is just too pleased with himself whenever he thinks he's found a new spot…..and he REMEMBERS!

The way a 120 pound dog can tell the exact moment you have nodded off to sleep and tip toe onto the bed so quietly you can't hear him. And then, in the morning, you wake up in the shape of a pretzel, because he's stretched out all over the place.

Never worrying about locking the car anytime I go out on errands (quick ones only). It's ALWAYS there when I return.

The way he lies on his back when he sleeps without a care in the world.

The look of intense concentration on his face when he watches TV - the tilt of the head, the wet forehead (especially the Animal Channel)!

That snorting sound he makes when he's content and happy.

The famous Rottie crawl - be still my heart!

The look of pure joy on his face when it's summer, the kiddy pool is full of water and the hose is set up like a shower for him to run under and bite at.

Frisbee?...no thanks, mom
plush toy?
yes, please, that would be great mom
ball?,...ball?……
DID YOU SAY BALL?
I'm all yours now mom!!!

The way he hammers his 'sits' for a treat, and then takes them so gently.

The way he gets along with kids - the little boy next door now has a collection of black plush toy dogs that are all named Renegade!

His wiggle-butt enthusiasm in greeting friends, even when their laps are a little too small….

His tremendous sensitivity to tone of voice, and his great pleasure in his family's company.

The motorized nubber…..
'nuff said!!!

These are just a few of the things I love about this dog/breed. He is a true companion, strong, hearty and completely in loving earnest.
