We
bought Muddy - named after the late, great Muddy
"Mississippi" Waters - at 6 weeks from whom I believe to
be a pretty unscrupulous breeder, but he was the last of the litter
to find a home, and his playfulness won our hearts! That was
December 10th 2002 when he weighed but 7lbs; he's now pushing 80lbs!
We love him very much and take him everywhere - hiking, swimming,
etc. We tried to prepare ourselves for raising him - thank god for
sites like this! - but couldn't have expected the demands of the
breed! We've survived so far and Muddy's wonderful, in spite of his
tendency to show affection by gently biting-teething-eating
everything in sight! We're working on this. Thank you for your site
and best wishes to all!

Angel is an 8-year-old Rott. The 2-year-old toddler adores "dog". Angel is the prefect house dog. She never has accidents. She is not thrilled with the cats, however. She is just the best dog ever. She does hate tires. She will lie next to the yard wagon and watch the wheels until my husband moves it, at which time she tries to bite the tires.

After the loss of our first deeply loved rotti Natasha, we decided that we could not live without our "black and tan". During our period of mourning we found Caledon Rottweiler Rescue - a special place for special dogs. Casey was trained as a protection dog and then given up for not being
"aggressive" enough. He had too many problems to mention here least of which is his "grumble-bunny" vocalizations.
It has now been 10 months. Casey is a new dog. With the scares healed and weight gained he is very obedient, calm, funny and sociable. He is wonderful with children, babies and people who are terrified of him (at 125 lbs he can be rather imposing). Casey cuddles on the couch for hours and will put his head in your lap for
"lovies". Kisses and hugs are the staple morning routine. His love no longer goes unanswered and he never has to fear a beating in his life again. A rotties love is like none other!

About 2 months ago in downtown Lewiston Maine where I work a family bought the building across the street from where I work. They live in the upstairs and are renovating the downstairs warehouse to be an antique store. One day while I was working I looked out the front window and saw a Rottweiler in the window of the warehouse, I went over to see her and opened the door to give pats and kisses.
She was just so sweet and it was love at first sight. I showed the owners pictures of my rotts and said what wonderful dogs rotts are. He proceeded to announce that "his was stupid". Well right there I knew they could not be great people. Then last Saturday they came over to where I work and told me that the dog had killed a mouse and that "she was a killer" and they have had her locked in a dirt cellar for about two weeks and did I want her. Well of course I wanted her. So I called my husband to come over and get her because I was still working and I wanted her out of the cellar.
When we went over to get her she was scratching and crying and howling at the cellar door to get out, my heart broke in two right there, it was all I could do not to hit that owner right there and then, but I refrained. Kyra leaped into my arms and heart and we have had her ever since. We went hiking, and swimming and she has her own mommy now who loves her and spoils her rotten. She finally has someone who VALUES her and let me tell you she is Soooo Smart!!!!! She has "follow" down in 1 repetition, she now sits, gives kisses, hugs, and stays and heels...all this in only 1 week and they said she was stupid!!!!! Gee, I wonder who the stupid ones really were???

Here
is our Kelsey taking a rest and watching the kids play. We adopted
her on Saturday, May 31. She was rescued from a shelter by "Missing
Linck Rescue". Our many thanks to Ronda Linck for rescuing her and
allowing us to adopt her. We are having a great time! She is 8 weeks
old. I don't know how we got along without her! She is the best!

Scipio
is 9 weeks old in the photo, and even though he is now 4 1/2 months,
we always see the puppy in the picture when he looks at us! He was
named "Scipio Africanus" in honor of his Roman heritage (Scipio
defeated Hannibal and his elephants!) Get'em Skippy!

As our only child, she is quite spoiled and knows it.
How can you resist that face?

This
is our pride and joy, Maxamillion Xavier. (AKA Max.)
He is 4 months old, and the smartest dog I have ever met. We have
worked hard to train him. Unfortunately, when people here Rottweiler
they think of all the bad stories. Our boy is a pleasure to be
around. He loves to go for rides, and he never meets a stranger. He
loves kids and his little stubby of a tail wags every time he meets
one!
Rotts are wonderful creatures!

Storm is our first
"Rottie". The photograph was taken at about 9months old the day she took her first best puppy in breed.
She had a good show career including best of breed over 354 other rotties at a championship show one Saturday. Then on the next she slipped a disc and was
paralyzed from the neck down.
Our vet did a ventricle slot operation on her and removed the disc but the spinal cord was damaged disc and slowly she recovered but never was shown again as it left her a little lame on one front
leg, but we were hooked on "Rotties" and now have eight including Storm who is still gong strong.

I rescued Benson the day after Thanksgiving 1999 from the Chesterfield, VA pound. He was a stray that walked right up to the shelter, so we are unsure of his age (probably 6-7). He had heartworms when I adopted him, but after treatment he has become a pretty healthy dog. He is by far the best dog I have ever had. He has an enthusiastic love of people and other dogs. The picture of him attached was taken by my wife out on our deck about a year ago.
